CLIMATE AND WEATHER FILES

Typical weather files for simulation are available to download from the California Measurement Advisory Council (CALMAC). Los-Angeles-Downtown-USC is the closest weather station to the project site, a copy of the CZ2022 (updated for use in the current 2022 Title 24 cycle) weather file will download when you click here.

Many modeling programs also have built in ways of downloading weather data. Entrants do need to ensure they are using the correct California Climate Zone file.

HIGH PERFORMANCE SCHOOLS

Schools have unique programmatic and performance requirements. Successful school design provides a healthy indoor environment that is comfortable and encourages learning. California has set ambitious goals for schools to increase facility energy efficiency and  reduce greenhouse gas emissions through every new construction and renovation project to lead to net zero energy and net zero carbon schools facilities.
